With Miss.Communication, our primary and consistent goal with every project is to create with soul and purpose. One of the many reasons we do what we do, and how we do - is because we care about what is being achieved. We’ve seen organisations that grow manifold - with unhappy and ungrateful employees. We’ve seen happy employees thrive in an environment they’re working for the collective degradation of the environment and we wish to become like none of the above.
Therefore, we’ve spent time to understand what we don’t want to do, the kind of work and people we don’t want to associate with, after having spent some time being flexible about it. We’ve been fortunately led to realise the need to cultivate a culture of discipline in our process. And we want to live this life believing in ourselves, believing in what we create / destroy and what we help people create / destroy.
We’ve now arrived at a Design Process that when trusted, followed and agreed with, has shown us results that have made the client and us happy at the same time. It’s also ensured a fuss-free flow and no expectation mismatch. What more do we need to live a life of peace?
What do we need in life, more than peace?
Here’s taking you through our ideology.
We get on a call to ask the right questions and seek clarity on the scale, expectation and scope of the project. The budget is a concern for us to chart the skill that will partake in the process of achieving the output. We always want to Under-Promise, Over-Deliver and we can only do that with the cooperation, transparency and genuineness - of the client at this stage. The scope of the work is what drives us. Any additions to the approved quantified amount affects the professional cost.
We ask too many questions. But to make it seamless, we share with the client after a Confirmation Seal on the Contract, The Questionnaire and expect that anybody whose feedback / opinion matters and/or should require entertainment at any stage of the design process - should answer it. It could be the client’s Mother, Long-Distance Boyfriend, Wellwisher of any kind. If they take the time to answer all the questions in their personal style and capacity, in the beginning itself - we’ve seen it help us glide through the process very simply and gladly.
Often, not complying to this step in the process, tends to come in the way of a seamless delivery. Therefore, now is the time to put down as much information as is required for us to digest.
And so we take time to produce - Our first draft which is a permutation and combination of the client’s and our input. Sometimes, we do justice with 1 draft, sometimes 3. The lesser the drafts, the more certain we are about the direction. We allow the client to pick and shop for what they want to retain and do away with. With a few conceptual / cosmetic iterations to the First Draft, we reach the end point of the concept, after which we begin working on executing the deliverables for website, print, social media etc. The rounds of iteration depend on the time and budget allocated to us. We’re in this to produce high-quality work with a strong sense of vision. Otherwise, we wouldn’t be able to call ourselves yearning and learning design professionals. Some may disagree, but we sincerely believe in defending good design. We’ve noticed that if good design settles some, it can equally unsettle the rest of us but with the above process, it becomes fuss-free for us to suggest and highlight the correct answers only.
We thrive and strive to seek the client’s point of view on the subject of what they imagine the brand doing to and for its audience. We understand that while creating a compelling piece of work - there comes a point we must know when to stop adding and start taking away the unnecessary. Once the back and forth is wrapped up and settled, we ready ourselves to hand over the open files of all things approved.
Direct communication with the client is key to our process. We keep the client intimated about the prowess required to maintain the finesse - after we’ve stopped working on the output. There’s also always an option to engage and consult with us - in the initial few months after a handover. We like to do whatever’s in our power to maintain synergy in the brand’s communication.
An intrinsic part of our process is to invite, evaluate and inculcate the feedback we receive from our valued clients. Instead of finding comfort in vague personal preferences and allowing insecurities to seep in, we like to warrant the collective effort of the client and the team with facts and det of what didn’t work in order to constantly grow as design professionals.
